You misunderstood Ninja. As you have the Cod4X server binary already, you don't need to manually download a newer version when there is a update. They have an update server, which means you only have to restart your server, and it will automatically update for you. However if you get your binary by compiling it from source (using the Github page), it won't auto-update, and you have to recompile every time there is an update.

I can only find 800 servers in-game, but hey it's still the original master server. I know for sure Cod4X isn't doing it since I uninstalled it to test it (and my server list without Cod4X was empty before).

Can confirm, back online. They lost ~2200 servers though (~3000 online before it went down, ~800 now). I still rather have the Cod4X only servers though...

Hey I know, i'm not saying I download anything from TPB. Games on Steam are so cheap there is no need to download them illegal Which is the reason I don't understand that people don't use Steam, it's literally gamers heaven.

*IceOps, it's IceOps not IseOps But yes some IceOps servers use Gameranger. They have a Cod4X plugin for it which you can get I believe, but it will cost you money.

Well I changed some color values there (it's RGB right?), added it to localized_english_iw07.iwd uploaded to the server, but it didn't change anything. I'll try again later, thanks for your help anyway!

Thought it was a mod/plugin thing and not some commands ran, a shame. I found the commands client-side but I hoped it would somehow work server-side too. And I know how to do something as basic as making a file read-only lol, thanks anyway. I don't know any servers changing my scoreboard though.

Sorry, not related to your question at all, but what are the commands to change the scoreboard color server-side? I see the IceOps servers do it (red and blue), but I have no clue how to do this myself. On-topic: if you execute the color.cfg from the startup options (so like +set dedicated 2 +exec color.cfg), doesn't it enable it for every map?

First of all have patience. Not everybody is online 24/7 so you'll have to wait till somebody has time to post again. Secondly, your problem seems to switch every post you make. Be clear about what your problem is, and try to explain it as good as you can. Anyways awaiting connection means it can't connect to the server. You probably have a closed port or something, check your server's firewall (although I don't think you have set that up) and make sure the host is open.

I'm not sure you should continue trying to fix this. You are clearly not familiar with Linux at all. First try learning Linux in general, maybe install a distribution in a virtual machine on your desktop or try a basic webserver or something. Learn the basics, learn the most important commands and Linux ways of doing things before you continue, because at this rate you will not finish it at all. First problem, you are running everything as root (seeing you have cod4 in your root directory). This is a bad, insecure practice, please make a normal user and run anything as that. Second problem, you have a cod4 game folder, and in that another folder called cod4-linux-server. You just need the cod4 game folder in which you also have the cod4_lnxded executable (you can remove the .exe's and .dll's since this is Linux). Then run the cod4_lnxded executable with the proper switches. Third problem, although this has nothing to do with the server but more with your personal computer safety, you are using Windows XP. Please upgrade now or switch to Linux! Windows XP is not supported anymore by Microsoft and you are prone to virusses, you probably have a ton of them already

That is a really old Cod4X version. Download or compile the newest version and run that instead of the one you are using now. After that it will update itself every time you restart the server.

Wait what? Sorry, but I did not attack you in anyway! I just said it is not caused by Cod4X but rather by the final killcam mod itself. Anyways, although updating to the latest version surely is a good idea I highly recommend, it still won't fix your error. It'll just show a better description of the error. Like I said, update to final killcam plugin to 2.4 (found by using Google). I can also send you the fixed 2.3 version if you want.

First of all if you don't know what to do with that file, you are not running Cod4X on your server. Secondly this bug is related to the killcam mod itself, not Cod4X. You are using final killcam version 2.3 right? I mentioned this to the developer and he gave me a fixed version, I can give it to you if you want (if anybody wants it). You could also try using version 2.4 but that one is more buggy for me.

As quoted from a Reddit post I made about someone asking why he couldn't install Punkbuster: "Do not install it, you don't need it. Only about 5 servers (of like 4000) still use it, since it is not supported anymore." Punkbuster is not supported anymore, and should not be used for servers. Just make sure you have a few good admins so they can ban cheaters when they're on.

Woops sorry, I misread it for Gametracker. Never mind, I have not tried Gameranger with Cod4... Do a lot of people search for servers that way?
