So first of all, ive noticed the inclusion of an website donate bar. +like on that.

My suggestion passes by it modification to a progressive one, that could expose the monthly/annual amount of money needed to sustain the iceops servers, and the amount collected till date for that goal.

Something simple like this:

Nah it has also other issues when we do this. If we earn money with whatever method IceOps will be seen as a company in legal views and not a private non-profit organization. If you earn money any legal penalties will be a lot higher. Just a simple advertising banner will change this status already. It also requires stuff like to have a good visible legal notice on our site. It is required in German law.

Martyrdom isn't a big issue on Softcore since nearly nobody uses it as far as I know, but I don't know if it used in Hardcore.

martyrdoom, 3xnades and rpg perks are already removed in what concerns the softcore server.

The advertise request is being debated since august, just check the forum advertise thread in the server moderation section. Maybe Zac Ninja could include that feature in the next update.

Some other thing that players are asking for, is the removal of grenade launcher and the implementation of a server ping limit.

As of removal of the GL you have my vote, but the ping limit is not likely to get implemented as we have members from all over the world, I don't think we want to block them.

Anyway, all depends on how big the limit would be i guess.

My friend, google democracy. If u were TEMP banned by a call vote, at least half of the ingame players voted yes. By other hand 15m is like a coffe break, so make it a positive thing and not a negative one. See this by other perspective. It were 30m (2x15m) that u wasted in something else, probly in something more productive than playing a game.

Theres a permanent solution, disabling the call vote option, but ingame as in rl a vote means a position, an opinion, a voice, so we cant do that.

Next time try to catch up some admin in the others IceOps servers, explain the situation and you'll see that everything will go straight.

Ive experienced the same, being temp banned several times due to ...........:huh:unknown reasons:huh:.

I know crying its still free, but as in rl reserv it too things that realy matter and get that a game isnt that different from rl, so walk trough it and learn from it.

Hoping someday we can still laugh from this and share some kills, in SOFTCORE x6 ofc .

Yesterday, many russian players were saying that russian language was removed, not showing up the ingame messages that they wrote in that language. If that wasnt enough, they were accusing me of being racist because i was discriminating them, since apparently and in their oppinion, i was the responsable of that remotion. :angel:

So can someone fix it? maybe a server restart could do the job?

Lesson: DONT play in a server full of angry russians. It will get nasty.

Ok, lets start.

First of all, from the technical point of view the game engine of Call of Duty series did NOT change at all from CoD4 / WaW. All they do is pack up higher resolution models / textures. It's like still selling pentium 3 processors, but overclocked and with fluid cooling. Another example - selling an old car with new paint job done + with injection control systems etc., but with the same old engine. Also, remember that the price is bigger at the time it comes out.

Another thing - do you really consider mw3 multi fun? Just look at what they are doing: throwing at people 'easy weapons' (quick analogy - double shotguns in mw2) so even noobs can pwn. This is a game for masses. If you want to have fun playing it and you are not a total noob - I strongly suggest not playing it.

Now - the bugginess and expliotness of the game... They just don't fix the bugs for years. Reason? Noone cares, every1 still buys it. And most people doesnt complain because they like playing shitty games in their shitty reality.

Finally, the minimal system specs are hillarious compared to the gfx quality. (yes, i can run this game and i can afford it, I wouldnt buy it even if it was for 1€)

I'm 007 and today i was playing to the server IceOps-Team High xp x6 Softcore Mixed Ranked - iceops.in . when I started to kill a player named DYSIK (the first of the opposing team) have been accused of cheating. It is NOT true. I write here just to say who I am a correct player, which obeys the rules.

now because of someone I have to wait 30 days before play again on a server who I really liked. thanks

its a game bug also, but yeah put it to end at 4 games so the score can be 2-1, instead the 1-1 that keeps getting bugged. By other side its quite funny earing " U WON" when 1-1 is displayed.

PS: the game bugs when u tie, so after 1-1 theres no normal sudden death round, as it should be expected. The last team winning the point grabs the overall victory. If u do flawless 2-0 it remains normal with no incidents.

So, since i am getting confronted with several ppl asking how to reduce ping and improve the ingame experience, i created this post, just to enlight some heads. Some of you might already know what im about to write, but by other hand, others dont, so here it goes.

The obvious way to increase your Cod4 performance is to:

1 - Improving ur hardware/software;

2 - Improving ur broadband connection;

3 - both!

....but, that involves spending money!

Well, to give out an idea, i was rich but then i did the 3rd step mentioned above, and now im a poor. :-/

Since i dont want u guys to be also in a poor state, theres a simple solution that involves spending no money at all.

The solution is messing up with your CoD4's config_mp.cfg.

In a simple way u just need to input some commands in your CoD4 console that will eventually:

- improve registration boost;

- increase FPS gain;

- lower ping;

- no significant loss in eye candy (aspect of the ingame graphics).

Below are commands that you can use in the CoD4 console. Get to the console by pressing the "¬" button on your keyboard while CoD4 MP is running. You don't have to be in game to use the console. You can be at the main menu screen. On my keyboard, that button is located above my Tab button. You must start all commands with "/". If you don't, the console will treat it like game chat.

Notes:

*CG FOV :: Field of view, where the value is the angle of the circular arc that is displayed

on your screen. High values will make the game appear "fisheyed".

*MAX FPS :: This command limits your maximum FPS. You may ask why you would want to do this,

and the answer is that it will help the server from having lag confusion when your frame rate

has a sudden rise or fall. Run a timedemo, collect your average FPS and use that as the limit

for when you play on-line.

*SNAPS :: This is possibly the most important setting for getting a good connection.

Snaps setting determines how many updates you recieve from the server. 20 to 30 for

56K connects in quake series 40 for high speed internet im sure the same for cod. (30 is fine).

*MAXPACKETS :: This setting puts a limit on the maximum amount of packets that can be sent to

the server via the client. This setting is useful for people with slower modems. Obviously we

all have high speed connects so set to at least 100. Lower maxpacket settings i.e 30 lowers ping

on screen but at the cost of registration.

*SM ENABLE :: Turns off unique Shadows ingame, it boosts FPS more than most commands.

*R DRAWDECALS :: Turns off details on walls and objects, however Punkbuster will kick you off for this at this time.
