    @kelm I'm not saying what he says is true, is was more your word vs his word kinda thing but like i said, i've had my suspicion for awhile and i even mentioned it to NNJ :P

    Anyway, thanks for posting evidence Ninja :)

    I know :P His word is not worth anything though as he told you only lies, we have proven that they indeed steal CD-Keys.

    How can we prove that they are stealing CD-Keys? I've known that they 'might' of been stealing CD-keys for awhile but could never prove it and from what i read there no clear evidence :P

    I even asked one of 3xp admins and he said they aren't and even told me how to avoid stealing CD-Keys

    I'm not trying to defend them, i think it's better to post the evidence that they are apart from some clientcmd errors where they have anti-cheat protection that does dvar checking (from what they say)

    Bullshit. The only way to prove anything would be him showing the complete mod source with not compiled .menu files. But well, it wouldn't be clean anyway as they need to create the cdkey1-5 cvars, they dont exist in stock CoD4. Which also shows how bullshitty is what he says.

    Dos attack has no protection -_- You can try some layer 6 or layer 7 firewall devices at your server end to reduce the effect of dos attack. Recently I was being attacked with 2.5 Gbps and my whole server crashed on it :/ Haven't got any solution to that without adopting some firewall devices. You can also try some datacenter in US who are providing dos attack protection on game servers :D

    If the attack is bigger than your bandwidth, even a million firewalls won't help. That is the problem with DDoS.

    It's impossible to block A DDoS attack depending on the size, unless you want to block all incoming traffic(which means legit users can't connect either). There ways to block it, e.g migrate traffic, setup firewall etc... this will help prevent a ddos attack to a certain point but if you do get one, expect your servers to lag now a bit till you sort out the ddos attack if you can.

    But I'm not some server engineer wizard, don't rely on my comment. All i know is that it's impossible to block one. Like they say, bigger they are, harder they fall. =)

    If they only lag a bit then he's lucky ;) And yes, there is no way to stop a DDoS atm, the only way to 'try and stop them' would be to FORCE every internet user to install a proper antivirus and keep it up to date, as it is the usual users and their infected PCs that are the source of the biggest attacks...

    As to the question, you can try setting rcon_password to an empty string. You would be pretty much safe then, it would disable rcon totally though. Or just make it very long and uncommon, make sure you don't use any words in it (if you change letters to appriopriate symbols / numbers, that's not making it secure at all!). An example of a secure password would be for example c54761ffede5d364a (but obviously don't use this one as everyone can see it :P).

    Modded lobbys, you can do it on xbox as well, it's pretty much what killed the older cod's on console.

    Source: i use to host modded lobbys on console and made my self a prestige that doesn't exist aka prestige 11th :>

    Anyway, how do you expect us to give you something if it's on the consoles and we don't know what mod menu it is, if you've got the .ff file to the mod menu, you can decompile it and rip the scripts from it(unless there a PC version to it, which most do have if they are the legit owner of the mod menu) and implant them on your server which i doubt you'll try and do, but it's always good to let people know.

    People don't care any more what platform it is on. Frankly, they don't even care enough to make ANY research or ask in a proper way. No, "ME WANT" + a screenshot is the way to go apparently...

    PS. Won't you get gebannt if Sony catches you hosting modded lobbies? :P

    @Ares and Kelm: yeah u did it, but dont be sure that every other person can handle it in the same way .....u need some knowledge, technical comprehension and carefulness to plug the parts together. F.e. that tiny sticks on the cpu...one second of inattention...u know what i mean!

    Tiny sticks are not there any more, there are small metal spheres as connectors nowadays (for quite a few years already). Impossible to damage those unless you stand on it or hit it with something heavy :D

    But well, all that is really required is ability to read, tiny bit of research and lots of PATIENCE.

    Well, i think u have to give a lilbit more information:

    Budget? Purpose? Games u wanna play on it? Special programs u wanna use?

    And btw: the cheapest way to build up a customized desktop pc is by your own, but if u never did it before u need somebody with experience.

    Well I've build my previous PC (now using laptop, kinda hard to make those yourself ;) ) without doing it ever before and it works :o And yeah, it is cheaper by like half of the price...

    I dont have problem with people finding out that someone is cheating. I have problem with people finding out that someone is cheating "because he 'scan-shooted that wall!!!11' and accusing without any proof. Seriously, CoD4 was released in 2007. It's been 7 freaking years of it online, and after that time of playing you must be kinda retarded to not know where enemy can camp. And also you have to be retarded, because you think that if someone hides behind wall, he disappears. That's either a childlish thinking or high-quantum-physic. And as I know you a bit, I bet the first one.

    I will doublepost so everyone can see an update. This is to make things clear.

    The post by Dodotis had NOTHING to do with AnimaL being banned. I spectated him for some time and I still think (not just me) that what I presented was a big enough proof (if you think otherwise please discuss it in an apprioriate thread, not here, thanks). With that said, we do NOT waste our time on checking such bullshit reports and spectating our own members because some random asshole shouts 'hax aboose omg ban'. If there is a proof about cheats being used by an admin or clan member, we will ofc take immediate action. There is no need to ask 'who will be next' as the answer is pretty clear - noone. I think I can speak for everyone here now: we never took this guy seriously, AnimaL has been suspected for a longer period of time (along with his nice ban reasons, still available in the banlist I think)..

    And arj, feel free to ban him. Actually, anyone who sees him on the server should do it IMO. If someone is to take responsibility for such 'abuse' let it be me.
