Initially the clan was just called "Blu". Then we had a temporarily merge with a clan called iPower. However that lasted only 2 weeks. Finally the name IceOps was used. There are no reliable sources when our gameservers started except screenshots which have been fortunately made by other users via Xfire. Yesterday was the 1st screenshot I know about using the old clan name. Just for statistic and future plans I'm gonna set up this question now. This is not a question what you like. Everyone who plays CoD4 is asked. Not just clan members or similar.

UAs you know our website was unavailable recently for several hours. This was because of an DoS attack on our webserver through http/https proxyservers. The purpose of this attack was to flood this server with requests so that it becomes unable to handle the legit requests within time. In the following we will show here our point of view as they decided to offer a statement on their website which you can find here: http://bit.ly/1BdQsDD We are very sure Kevinos the head of AR51 is responsible for this attack as we got his personal IP-Address (his home pc)combined with that attack which is directly connected to this attack. Additional his ip address of his OVH server was used for one time only as well to keep running his attack script when he probably went to bed (it was 3.30AM). We won't disclose details as we want to be able to track future attacks. We have also other points which are lowering possible doubt. The used useragent which sometimes contains the string "ar51" is not the reason we connect this attack to him or ar51. In past we got also an attack with the string in useragent "cod4-servers.com". Without knowing the source of this attack it is not so unlikely it was also launched by Kevinos. This statement was posted here because he did so on his website and he locked his topic on his site.

The Promod-Team has been disbanded because it is inactive and has no leader. The alliance with IcE has been disbanded too. (for now at least) Team-Players who did belong to the team and have applied by us will keep their clan member status. Team-Players who did not apply by us (IcE-Team) have 2 weeks from now to apply as clanmember when they which to keep clan member status and accept this rules. (Please do that only if you also really play on our servers and really have interest into this clan)

Okay the following things have be changed now: 1st I have added a new server: Return of Zombie Ops. It is a zombie survival mod. Join it here: cod4://iceops.in:28966 2nd Anonymous is now responsible for the server Zom_DB. That means updates, maps and admins. This server is no longer maintained by the IceOps staff like before. As the IceOps staff has no time to maintain this server I decided it is a good decision to do so.

It seems like AR51 Obscurity server has stolen all our players as our population on Obscurity dropped quite significantly at the time theirs gone online. So I think they moved to their server. Now it is only to discuss if we crack ours as well. As ours is now really really empty compared to two months before I think we should do. Attached a file so you have in pictures what I mean. (Under these conditions we could turn our server off!)

Okay we have a new server for the game Red Orchestra 2 - which was available for free for one day - on Steam. You can find our server "IceOps" most likely inside the in game server browser. IP is: iceops.in:7777

Well you can add this game today free to your Steam library and keep it You should consider to add it at least to your Steam library. Click the install button. I think you can stop the download later if you don't want to installed it now. Link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/35450/ Maybe I'll consider to run a server if there is some demand to have one. So get it as it costs nothing until April 24th at 10AM Pacific Time unless you have already added it.

Update: There is now a client version available which protects effective from CDKey stealing CoD4 servers. You can find it here: CoD4X Client edition - Need testers - Pre Alpha However no solution for MAC OS X Well what was for long theoretical possible to program is ongoing now for some month in reality. However I unfortunately heard just yesterday about this 1st time from NNJ. There are now indeed servers out there which are reading and storing your CoD4 CD-Keys. One server which is doing this we are aware of is: 91.121.21.210:28968 - 3xp' 24/7 Nuketown TDM/SD New server found on 6/21/2014 185.4.149.16:29081 - ..:: WDNTW Public SD All Weapons Server TS3:178.63.194.215 ::.. There maybe even more out there we don't know it. Well I recommend to stay away from any server with the IP: 91.121.21.210 or "3xP" inside the name. Stay away from server with the IP: 91.121.21.210:29081 or "WDNTW " inside the name. Also it is recommend to stay away from any server you don't trust when the following 2 conditions are met: #1 It downloads any content to your PC #2 You have a valid and legally bought CD-KEY entered in CoD4. You can enforce such a policy by entering into console \cl_allowdownload 0 Or if you don't like console go from Main-Menu to: Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Allow Downloading You have to do this whenever you join an untrusted server as this can got reset by any server. How can I detect a cdkey stealing server ? You can detect it on this way (However when you have detected it, it is already too late): Whenever you have not opened the cdkey-dialog by self before but after you have joined a server the cvars cdkey1 - cdkey5 are set you have joined a server which did at least read your CD-KEY. You can check this by opening console and type only into it "cdkey". "cdkey1" - "cdkey5" will show up here. So be careful now until there is a fix available. Looks like they are doing it since August 2013 so it had happened for quite a long time already. (See attachment) Adding evidence... Extract the modfolder and play the demo inside the modfolder. If you are done with demo cdkey1 - cdkey5 will be set. This demo got recorded on this 3xP server of course. Playing this demo won't expose your CDKEY to anyone if you quit your game after you have played the demo.
