DWChris 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2014 First of all, contact your host Well since you dont like linux, ask yourself why! The OS is free, easy to use(learned how to in 1 afternoon) has nice security, besides that, it uses less hardware to run, and the best thing -> Stability You should reconsider

madkam11 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2014 ERROR: Attempted to overrun string in call to va() what is this ?
NNJ 1 Report post Posted August 27, 2014 va() is a function of the Quake 3 engine used to quickly build strings using snprintf and a static destination buffer. If the generated string is longer than the available buffer the server shows an "Attempted to overrun string in call to va()" error and terminates. http://aluigi.altervista.org/adv/cod4vamap-adv.txt

IJzzo 1,072 Report post Posted August 27, 2014 va() is a function of the Quake 3 engine used to quickly build strings using snprintf and a static destination buffer. If the generated string is longer than the available buffer the server shows an "Attempted to overrun string in call to va()" error and terminates. I have to add here: The Quake3 engine's va() function feature an 32K buffer while the CoD4 va() function features a buffer of only 1K. However Linux CoD4Server's va() function features a buffer of 8K. There is a known DoS attack against servers running iw3mp.exe CoD4 which makes use of this 1K va()-buffer. Win CoD4X however doesn't have this problem.
