Punkbuster Setup (Legacy) that actually works for CoD4

So guys, I recently reinstalled cod4 and then faced problems with getting pb to update for the game.

I found the Legacy setup that had the option for cod4 in it, but apparently now it isn't possible to install it from them too because evenbalance makes the legacy setup auto update to the newest one.

So after a little bit of googling and stuff, I figured out the solution which worked for me.

I think I should definitely share it with the community, here are the instructions:

1. First of all, download the required files:

cod4_win32.zip

pbsetuplegacy-modified.zip

2. Now extract both files into seperate folders

3. Copy the contents of cod4_win32 inside the pb folder:

...Call of Duty 4\pb\

3. Now go to the folder pbsetuplegacy-modified you created in step 2

4. Execute pbsetup.exe and use it to update punkbuster for Call of Duty 4 (there is an image Howto.gif inside which also demonstrates the setup process)

If it doesn't show CoD4 in the games list:

Every time you close pbsetup.exe , it will be updated to the latest version (which we don't want!)

So delete pbgame.htm

make a copy of pbgame.htm.backup

rename it to pbsetup.htm and then try using pbsetup.exe again.

If this is confusing, just extract the original pbsetuplegacy-modified.zip again which you did in step 2.
