i shall give my opinion on this: In my belief you should not edit ANY of the game files (and the advantage of the graphics etc not really too big as opposed of a singular colour that stands out over everything) sure it will help a bit i give you that.

what i am curious to know is hoe your FPS is with and without your edited textures and what your pc specs are(is the editing really necessary?)
