    Clan update! Important!

Indeed my friend. Unfortunately, the FareWell section is not to be found since with my current status I can't access the forum Else, I am open for suggestions as to where I can write my Farewell as a Clan-Member to IceOps.

    Update

Wow, I am really sad to read this and especially since it all happened in my name/account. There is 50% of blame for me to take due to my inactivity (--> catching him at the start). I apologies to everyone for this. It could have been easily avoided (to a certain extend at least). This should and is also my cue to step down from IceOps. But I'll write a decent farewell after following up on a few things. Love, Look

    IceOps Reborn

Dear IceOps, as you might have noticed, IceOps as to how it is now, is going nowhere. After discussing the future of IceOps with Joker, we agreed that changes have to be made in order to restore being a real Clan. We have seen a lot in the past and evaluated what the causes were for the ups and downs. Currently, there are many who aren't active anymore, hardly represent IceOps and some intolerated behaviours occur here and then. We know not everyone will agree on how we will proceed, but we discussed in lengths the pro's and con's and still came to the following conclusion on how to reform IceOps new: All memberships except for the IceOps-Staff are going to be revoked on Sunday 12th March 2017. Meaning, you are now a former member. If you still want to be part of this Clan, as being part of a full functional clan, you may reapply again. Each application will be reviewed and discussed within the IceOps-Staff. A re-application does not mean you are going to be auto-accepted. Final decisions on your application will be announced by a member of the Clan Leaders Group. Keep in mind that this reform and action is nothing personal. It was long overdue and needs to be done in hopes, to bring IceOps back on track. To all who aren't active and will probably read this too late or never: Thank you for your time, work and contributions to IceOps. As you know, we appreciated your company and when you feel like coming back, we are looking forward to it! Time for a fresh start. - The IceOps-Staff Ps.: IceMods are not affected by this. For you it stays the same.

    Admin abuse for Stu

It ain't that simple if you are a server moderator. If you want it simple again, you may drop your position here in IceOps. Indeed and just to get it straight: This is a warning for you @Stu. - Case Closed.

    Head Members Group

Hey everybody, you may have noticed that our Head Members Group is a little bit lonely with only - the one and only - Kenai in it After some time of elaboration of possible candidates with the whole Staff, we reached a mutual decision to promote into the Head Members Group. Although I have my doubts of him being too slow for me, I put my speed aside and everything suddenly is fine Congratulations Bro and a warm welcome to the ultimate IceOps-Staff! Keep up the good work, well deserved I might add! Cheers, Lookout

    Demotion MinQkel

Hey fellow members, we were already thinking about demoting MinQkel from Supermoderator for while now since he is rarely online. He got in touch with me today, asking for a demotion himself due to his irregular activity. We discussed this for a while and came to the same conclusion. However, he still wants to be in and part of IceOps. Once things settle for him in real life, we'll hopefully have the same old Minq back again. In the meantime, he is still a clan member. My Best, Lookout

    Demotion MinQkel

Things have settled for him in real life. Bad for us, the better for him though. MinQ handed in his resignation last monday in a private message due to his inactivity. It's really sad to see him go, especially since he guided me to IceOps in the first place (and Kenai, too, ofc). If he should return to online-gaming, he will return to IceOps, at least to say Hi There's really nothing more to add except to quote a line from his message, so you guys know that he sends his best regards: "I do thank you for the good time you guys have given me. Still the best community I've ever been in and the first one I feel returning to when I get back into gaming. I wish you and the rest of the community the best! Yours truly " Farewell MinQ! - The IceOps-Staff

    New rules please

All has been basically said, @Andrea. I understand the disadvantage starting mid-game. I bet you can deal easily with granade launchers and extreme campers as long as you start with them (beginning of map/round). I feel your pain, but more reason to get some skill .However, no reason to change the game. PT_Sam, if you are concerned about collateral damage you are always welcome to adress a higher rank member via pm. We'll handle it internally and come back to you. Hope this won't discurage/hinder you having fun around us now. A lot happaned over the past year, just check it out and if you like what you see, feel welcome to stick around - Closed.

    Question about rules

Well, I usually just kicked immediately for "Afk. Please rejoin." That makes it quite simple. However, when no admin is around I would see it as taking another advantage over the marines. On the other Hand, marines could use the afk to set up the obs, lurking him there. Two ways street, but with the latter you'll get some minus points eventually. Oh and the timewasting you'll encounter there @2fast4you, that's not playing the game, kick. (except you all accept to fool around a bit, i.e. when being only 2 or 3 people on the server)

    Rules FreezeTag

Well, did you @Mc.Joker and @Prime even play there once? Or better more often? Problem with marty and tube is cuz of the maps which are voted again and again, especially killhouse or ambush are spawnkills. There is no tactic nor skill you can use to avoid being hit by it. No need to mention the other maps since it's the same everywhere.

    Rules FreezeTag

Uhm, to my knowledge we can disable the perks. However, Ninja says it's part of the game and we never settled the argument Marty, Noobtube and clays should be disabled. (Last Stand and Juggernaut are not too bad, they therefore give up more valuable perks) If enoug people like this post, I have backup against Ninja

    Deathrun Server

Hello everyone, as you have already noticed, the deathrun server 1.2 has been moved/shifted to the 4x3-Clan, which was revived with this action. What does this mean? A lot of things: First, the deathrun server is neither dead nor stopped. It’s not gone for good. Players still can play on the server. Nothing has changed in regards to that. Second, all those who donated will keep their VIP status as long as they have paid it for. An agreement has been settled. Third, we are fully aware of what deathrun brings to IceOps with all the up- and downsides. After putting everything into perspective with the way IceOps going long-term, this has been the best solution. How do 4x3 and IceOps work together? Basically, 4x3 and IceOps are two separate and different Clans. How we are distinguished can be easily seen when you visit and compare both forums. We are a cooperation, meaning we work together, try out new things, exchange experiences and eventually go for some joint ventures in the future. @Rewbin was involved from the start with this idea since he ran the 4x3 Clan in the past. He'll be the intersection of both clans and therefore going to be the only exception, who can be in both clans. Also, I stand on good terms with all the owners of 4x3 and am going to keep it that way. You are free to join the 4x3 Clan if you think this clan better suits you, especially if you are only interested in playing deathrun. However, you’ll have to apply at their website (http://4x3gaming.com/forums/). Previous server moderators or members of IceOps have obviously a plus in their applications there. Not to mention the hard work for keeping it running and up-to-date, thank all of you for this. Keep in mind that you can’t be in both clans as Clan-Member. Deathrun completely gone from IceOps? As for now, yes. If there will be one in the (near) future, I cannot say. Unfortunetly, I did not have so much time to think about this. Why are we informed just now, when the server has been already moved? I know you have a lot of questions and it may seem that all this happened in secret, including withholding information from all of you. This is not true, since all this should have happened differently. We wanted to discuss this within the Staff first, then the clan and afterwards, when everyone is on the same page, the whole community. Due to impatience and miscommunication, the idea was executed before I could even make a move. Therefore, I apologize to all of you, that this went down this way. The IceOps-Staff is here for you for any questions you may have. I would also kindly ask you to keep it friendly. Sincerely, The IceOps-Staff

    Deathrun Server

Please let me know if you experience any difficulties. To me they are ad hoq available and should also be the same to any other administrator of IceOps. @Rewbin may have a look into that. Excuse me, but I told you guys before the whole community. See the private forum section for this. Besides, I only knew of this a short time beforehand, too (as mentioned above) I don't see why all of the sudden the server "shall be so bad." Like ZigZag said, it's the exact same server with a different name. Of course they are going to update it and make changes according to their current needs. Same we did here, so nothing bad. If they make changes you are not happy about, you can still talk to them as you could to us. Last but not least, you can be server moderator there. You only need to hand in your application at 4x3. If you only moderated the deathrun server, you should do this. I agree with you that there is no point being a server moderator when not moderating our servers. In regards to this you can turn to your mentor, a headmember and above in order to determine if it is still valid to be a server moderator of IceOps. Vise versa may happen as well, that we will contact you for this matter.
