I'm interested but also rusty as hell

Greetings, I have been playing on your server for a while now under a few different nicknames. As on every other HC server, camping is highly active, especially on maps such as Strike, Backlot and Pipeline. There is something I could suggest despite not being competent enough to talk about this topic. Instead of decreasing damage, throughout some period of time, you might consider taking away player's weapon. The principle is identical to camping "rule" you already have, just with minor tweaks. First part could be a simple warning to players, if a player refuses to obey the warning, a weapon gets taken away until player makes a few steps. It might not stop the camping completely, but it will certainly make some noticeable changes. There might be some disagreements, but this problem is present each and every single game with 20+ players online. CTRL (Go Prone) which makes a player almost invincible on some maps. Although his damage is decreased to 34, a kill can get secured with 2 to 3 bullets, depends on which type of gun is being used, just by laying on the floor and not making a single movement. Imagine how frustrating it gets when you run across the whole map, just to get killed by the guy who went prone or crouched in the darkest spot of the map. As I already said, it can't be guaranteed that this will be highly effective, but at least for those who refuse to use their wasd keys, it might help a bit. However, spawn-trapping, camping from place to place will be there and there is no way it can be stopped. With damage decreased, and range brought to a bare minimum, the camping rule you have looses it's effect. Regards, IGN: Marcaida

Feel free to explain to me about your predicament. Please Note; The spoilers below this are your Screenshots. The Screenshots in the Spoiler below are from my POV in almost the exact same spot(Granted it's not in the IceOps Server as Countdown wasn't on at the time of this post and thus I don't have the same FOV) In my opinion, you went around a cheat protected command that is disabled. So I would deny this appeal because of the evidence provided above- However I will let other Admins put their input into the matter as well. First demo is kinda balanced, probably average gameplay, not much funny stuff. Second demo is just bad luck for him, as he misses everything by an inch. Third demo has some lucky shots, but I think that's all that they are, luck.

Hi all, For a long time now I have played on the HC cod4 server and the one underlying thing that has always irked me is the design of the spawn protection. While most of the time your firefights are with people who haven't just spawned in and therefore this isn't a problem with every kill/death, it is prominent enough to cause a particularly bs death at least a couple times per match at a minimum. Over time there have been thousands of these but this one just happened this afternoon and I thought it was the best one I had captured on recording yet and serves to illustrate the issue. In this example the player spawns and has the freedom to begin movement and see his surroundings. Upon which he spots me, moves, aims and kills me. On my screen I am running to the area behind the enemy lines when all of a sudden I hit an invisible wall. I turn around to see what it was and i'm faced with a guy preaimed at me and i'm dead before I could react. This experience made me think that I had encountered a glitch or perhaps a lag spike rather than a spawn as well so I was doubly unprepared. All this because the spawn protection allows for full viewing of your surroundings, complete invisibility and invulnerability and the ability to move a short distance and begin to aim all without losing these advantages. In a previous instance I remember I had someone spawn in front of me while I was reloading, walk through me then become visible and knife me in the back. A completely unfair death as there was not a single thing I could do to have reacted or prevented it.

Only thing that I can think of, is to remove the spawn protection when someone moves. It should lower the advantage for them and keep the advantage of protection.

My friend, it's too late to give a warning, we need to stop this! @$t0rM [= deserves a permanent ban on the forum and servers. I am against insults anyone of our clan members. And our guy needs a serious warning!

Rotation was not changed because few people complained and it will keep changing moving forward. Frequency of the change is yet to be determined but in general you can expect only a few most common maps to be permanently in rotation.

I am crappy as well. So this is not an excuse.

Hi Marcaida, thank you for your suggestion. We already think on something like that, especially because sometimes -like you said- 34 damage is not that effective. Let's wait and see if the developers can spend some of their time on that, I think it's a valid suggestion. Thank you again 610 *.*

Dear, @sanchejioo thank you for your ban Appeal. As evident you were banned for the use of 'No Smoke.' Down below will be the demo I was sent from a report that shows you aiming and shooting through thick smoke(As well as killing players) on the map 'Countdown.' There is also a specific shot where a player was behind a barrier and was not visible and just before they popped out you instantly aimed and shot where he was just before popping out- Thankfully you somehow missed him(This in my personal opinion almost looked like a wallhack) as for the No Smoke kills, You killed 'War raider' 3 times through the smoke, Another No Smoke was when you were on the Missile Truck aiming at the downed helicopter at someone firing, You shot at them twice before I couldn't even see where he was with the smoke, but when I don't have No Smoke I could see you follow him even when he jumped up you followed him into the air, very fishy in my personal opinion. As before I will let other Admins make their input into this matter, But I personally think you are using No Smoke and or possibly have a hack and thus I won't be unbanning you. @ProXicTThank god someone else actually sees it other then me, and i have got several demos of him myself , but recently he's also been changing his name frequently so he is not known as Registered Flex Offender ... im sorry but you dont change your name every day after a ban for no reason.....also dont care if he sees this XD

I then explained that I have a 30ms response time to your server host and a constant 333 fps. He then and I quote said "ping is not lag. and gg for education. nice parents" and then when I tried to defend myself and explain how "lag" is predominately a result of the response time to a dedicate node in which it's traversing traffic, he then kicked me from the server.

Dear @Sea Shanty 2 [b6], thank for your Appeal- The only problem I have with this is the way you went around the cheat protected command. As '/cg_LaserForceOn' is one of those commands protected in multiplayer which I'm guessing you knew about? The cheat protection for the listed commands are there for a reason so players don't get an advantage over others. You were also tempbanned a while ago for player skins which is also a nono. If the Admin that banned you @KMB thinks you won't go around the cheat protected commands no more(Or other Rule breaking) He or I can unban you. -IceOps Staff

On the 20th may 2020, it was IceOps Gaming's 10 Year anniversary of being open. It was 10 years ago I (IJzzo) started IceOps in the beginning under the name Blue-Clan [Blu]. We started with multiple servers but two became very popular, Softcore mixed and Hardcore TDM. After few month we did a merge our clan with few other players who had a clan called iPower. However we ended this relationship already after 1 week because there were (maybe unjustified) doubts they are clean players. From here we had to rename again and used IceOps as our name for the past 9 and a half years. We added the mods Obscurity and Deathrun on our servers which became very popular and rose the interest in the IceOps community significantly. With the shutdown of the back then most popular Obscurity server "Retox Squad", our clan became the most interesting one for the Obscurity community and we got our second oldest member @Kenai who is still around today with us. I can not remember all the members we had before, over the years they were a lot, so I won't name any here. When you have played on IceOps before 2015 then you are maybe interested in something we have prepared. Speaking now on behalf of the IceOps staff and myself, we would all like to say a huge thank you for continuing to be here. Running a community for so long has had its toll on the member count, but for the ones that are still here, you are not forgotten at all.
